ELSA

I am the ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) at our school.  I have been delivering this programme to groups and individual children since September 2018.

The sessions are held in the Unicorn Room, usually once a week for 30 minutes for approximately half a term.  The Unicorn Room is a calm and quiet area where the children feel comfortable and relaxed.

The sessions help the children to recognise and understand their own feelings and emotions, giving them the confidence to express how they feel.

The aim of ELSA is to remove the barriers to learning and to have happy children in school and at home.

If anyone has any questions regarding ELSA, I am always in the playground every morning at 8.50 a.m. or I will gladly arrange a meeting with you to discuss any concerns you may have.
