Hello and welcome back after half term! I hope you had lots of fun and was also able to relax!

 

The second half of the Autumn term is filled full of exciting learning. We begin with bonfire night and learning all about the story behind this and how to keep safe around fireworks.

We move onto Remembrance Day where we will explore the significance of this important day, honouring those who have served and sacrificed for our country. Through activities and discussions, we'll gain a deeper understanding of the history behind Remembrance Day and the importance of remembering those who have fallen.

After this we'll be exploring the fascinating Hindu festival of Diwali. We'll learn about its traditions, significance, and the stories that lie behind it. One of the key stories we'll delve into is the tale of Rama and Sita, whose triumph over evil is celebrated during Diwali. Get ready to discover the magic and meaning of this vibrant festival! 

 

Get ready to discover the magic of Christmas! This year, we'll delve into the history and traditions surrounding this beloved holiday. We'll explore the meaning of Christmas, learn about the past and present celebrations, and understand why we come together to celebrate this special time of year.

We shall also be going to visit Derby Theatre and watch Chicken Licken.

The first Christmas

Come and discover the amazing people who keep us safe and healthy. We'll explore the important roles of emergency services like firefighters, police officers, and paramedics. We'll also learn about the helpful people in our local community, from teachers and shopkeepers to volunteers and community leaders. And don't forget about the caring professionals who look after our pets and loved ones, like veterinarians and nurses. Get ready to meet the people who make a difference in our lives!

Our PE sessions continue to be on a Tuesday and a Thursday so please come dressed in your PE kit. 

 

Homework will continued to be marked on a Monday so please make sure you bring your homework booklet in for it to be marked weekly. 

 

Please, please, please, read with your child at home at least 3x per week. Your child's phonic book will be changed every week and their browsing book changed once a month unless they ask to change before this.
