Hello and a happy new year to you all! I hope you had a lovely Christmas and a relaxing break.
This half term is packed with exciting new learning and full of discovery. We start our first week back with the New Year, each child will make a New Years star about how they would like to show kindness this year and it will be sent home for you to put on the fridge to help to remind them. Next, we are heading into space with Baby Bear! Reading this fantastic story will transport us onto the moon and we have got to think about what we want to pack before we go. When we arrive back from the moon it is Chinese New Year, we will be learning the story about Chinese New Year and use our new materials and joining skills to create Chinese New Year lanterns. After this we will be moving onto one of our favourite times of the year-pancake day! We will be reading Mr Wolf's pancakes and writing a list of all the ingredients we need before we make our pancakes and you join us for pancake racing!
Our PE days continue to be on a Tuesday and Thursday so please send your children in their PE kits.
Please read with your child at least 3x a week, more than this would be brilliant! Your child will continue to have one phonic and one browsing book sent home with them, please see the inside of their yellow reading diary for when their books will be changed. You will also find their login details for phonics bug (this is part of our phonics scheme) where they can access phonetically matched books online.
Homework will continued to be marked on a Friday so please send your child's books in.
As always if you have any questions please come and see myself or one of the EYFS team.
