This half term in Robin Class we shall be reading the story of Jack and the Beanstalk as part of our topic. The children will be writing character descriptions, using lots of wonderful vocabulary to bring the story alive for when we re-write the story of Jack and the Beanstalk. We shall also be writing a letter as the giant to Jack.
We shall be learning about what countries make up Great Britain, including the capital cities and also learning what cities are near us. We shall also be learning about directions (North, East, South and West) and using this language and knowledge to locate the three countries that make up Great Britain and where we are in the world when we learn about the wider world which includes the seven continents and five oceans.
In DT we shall be learning how to make a free-standing structure using construction (k'nex, stickle bricks and plastic construction). I wonder which tower will stay free-standing the longest?
