Hello! A big welcome back to the second half of our summer term which is action packed! We start off learning all about the seaside and looking at differences between the seaside during Victorian times and the seaside now, especially looking at the differences in what people wear. One of the books we will be reading is 'The Lighthouse Keeper's Lunch' and writing instructions to Mr Grinling about how to make our favourite sandwich. We will also be holding a seaside afternoon for children and parents! We then move onto learning about under the sea and all the creatures we might find in it. Our books include Tiddler and Sharing a Shell and we will also be learning about Saving the Oceans Day. This is followed by our Wonderful World Week where we will be learning all about India!
As usual please read with your child at least 3x a week and encourage them to use their phonic bug login to practice their phonics. Homework continues to be marked on a Friday so please ensure their homework booklet is brought into school on Fridays.
Our PE days continue to be on a Tuesday and Thursday so please bring your child in their PE kit on those days.
Our Little Chef's programme continues to run on a Monday so please look at what your child will be making each week.
Our EYFS children will also be brushing their teeth once a day with the Smile 4 Life programme, if you have lost the information for this please come and ask for a copy.
As always if you have any questions please come and see myself (Mrs McNeil), or a member of the Shining Start team at the beginning or end of the school day or by ringing the school office.
