Welcome to Wrens!
We are delighted to begin this exciting learning journey together and can't wait to see our youngest learners grow in confidence, independence and curiosity.
During the first few weeks, we will focus on building friendships, learning routines, and developing the positive behaviours that help everyone feel safe, happy and ready to learn.
This half term, children will explore our Marvellous Me topic through play, exploration and creative activities. We will learn about ourselves, our families, our bodies and our senses, while celebrating what makes each of us unique. Through this learning, children will develop confidence, independence and curiosity about the world around them.
Reading and storytelling are at the heart of our Reception curriculum. Alongside books that support children’s transition into school, we will share our Fab Five Stories. Through repeated exposure, discussion and play, children will develop a deep understanding of these texts and build the confidence to retell them using their own words.
As we approach half term, we will explore our Halloween theme with exciting activities such as potion making, pumpkin carving and creative crafts. We will also enjoy seasonal stories including Room on the Broom and Winnie the Witch.
We look forward to a wonderful half term full of fun, friendship, discovery and learning! 🍂📚✨
