In PSHE, the children will be learning about emotions and wellbeing through the Zones of Regulation. They will develop their understanding of different feelings, learn how to recognise emotions in themselves and others, and explore how emotions can affect behaviour. Through discussions, stories, and practical activities, children will be taught a range of strategies to help them manage their feelings, regulate their emotions, and make positive choices. This work will support the children in developing self-awareness, resilience, and the confidence to express their feelings in a healthy and appropriate way.
This term in Music, the children will be learning all about keeping the pulse. They will explore how music has a steady beat and practise keeping in time by clapping the rhythm of their names, swaying and tapping to the pulse, and singing simple rhythms. The children will also use instruments to copy rhythms based on word patterns and develop their ability to keep the pulse while playing. Throughout the unit, they will build their listening, coordination and performance skills, learning to work together and follow instructions during musical activities and performances. This exciting topic will help children develop confidence, concentration and a strong sense of rhythm.
Children will enjoy taking part in Forest School, where they will explore and learn in our outdoor environment. Through a range of hands-on activities, they will develop confidence, resilience and teamwork skills while connecting with nature. The children will have opportunities to investigate the natural world, solve problems, take managed risks and build independence, all while having fun and developing a greater appreciation for the outdoors.
