We’re kicking off the term by celebrating the start of a brand-new year! The children will explore why we celebrate New Year, share their own experiences, and learn about New Year’s resolutions, what they are and why people make them.
Next, we’ll take a trip to the Far East as we discover the magic of Chinese New Year! The children will learn the story behind this colourful celebration, explore traditions, and compare the similarities and differences with our own New Year festivities.

5, 4, 3, 2, 1... BLAST OFF!
Wrens are heading into orbit! This half term, we’ll become astronauts and explore the wonders of space. The children will learn all about Tim Peake, why he’s a famous explorer, and what it takes to train for a mission to space.
We’ll watch real rocket launches, read the story Whatever Next! in Drawing Club, and use our imaginations to create rockets, spaceships, and even a role-play space station.

Get ready for some flipping fun! We’ll be learning about Pancake Day and Lent, including why it is important and why Christians celebrate it. The children will enjoy making pancakes, taking part in pancake races, and even running their own pancake café. Mr Wolf will definitely approve!
