Spring

We have some really exciting topics this term.

Science: Earth and Space

In this unit, children will have the chance to look beyond our planet and explore the wonders of our solar system. They’ll journey from Mercury all the way to Neptune, discovering the unique features of each planet. The unit also examines how scientific understanding of Earth’s movement and position in space has changed over time, helping children appreciate how ideas develop through observation and evidence.

Science: Forces

This unit introduces children to the forces that shape the world around us. They will learn why unsupported objects fall towards the Earth, exploring gravity and how it acts between the Earth and other objects. Children will also investigate the effects of air resistance, water resistance, and friction, gaining a practical understanding of how these forces influence movement.

Geography: The Amazon Rainforest

In Geography, Eagles will be diving into the incredible Amazon Rainforest. Children will discover where it is located, why it is such an important global ecosystem, and the rich biodiversity it supports. They will also explore the issue of deforestation, including how everyday choices—such as the use of palm oil—can contribute to the problem, and what we can do to help protect this vital environment.
