We have got a really exciting term ahead of us with a visit to The University of Derby, some children will be visiting Go Beyond and of course we look forward to performing our school play "The Jungle Book".
We have some great topics to work on too:
Play songs
Here is a link to take you to the songs for the play so that children can practise at home. Please be aware that this is a YouTube page and it does contain adverts.

Science
This term, our science unit is called ‘Looking After the Environment’.
The children will be learning about climate change in an age‑appropriate and empowering way. The unit supports the national aim of helping pupils understand climate and sustainability, while also building their Working Scientifically skills.
Children will explore what climate change is, what causes it, and how it affects the world around us. They will also look at the positive actions being taken by individuals, communities, organisations and governments to protect the planet. Our aim is to help pupils feel informed, thoughtful and confident about the role they can play in looking after the environment.
History – The Ancient Mayans
The Maya were an advanced civilisation and places them on a timeline alongside other periods. Children explore Mayan society, including its strict hierarchy and inherited roles. They compare Mayan food and farming with modern diets and WWII rationing. Pupils analyse primary sources to understand different viewpoints about Maya life. They study theories behind the civilisation’s decline and evaluate the lasting impact of Maya achievements.
