History - The Ancient Egyptians

During this term we will be using evidence to ask questions and find answers to questions about the past. The children will be using different sources to find out more about the Ancient Egyptians and gain a more accurate understanding of this early civilisation and its achievements.

We will look at the pyramids of Giza and find out how and why they were built. We will investigate the process of mummification - looking at how and why they wrapped up their dead, as well as looking at what and how they removed parts of the body!

The children will look at what else we can learn from and about Ancient Egyptians, including how to write in hieroglyphics!

PSHE

n PSHE, the children will be learning about emotions and wellbeing through the Zones of Regulation. They will develop their understanding of different feelings, learn how to recognise emotions in themselves and others, and explore how emotions can affect behaviour. Through discussions, stories, and practical activities, children will be taught a range of strategies to help them manage their feelings, regulate their emotions, and make positive choices. This work will support the children in developing self-awareness, resilience, and the confidence to express their feelings in a healthy and appropriate way.
