The History of our School
We will be learning about what school life was like at Ironville in the past. How was school life different in 1850 to today? We will be exploring different sources and artefacts to discover what it was like to be a Victorian school child. We will be inviting families in to share their experiences of school life at Ironville when they were younger and we can discuss and compare how it has changed and what is the same. Please let us know if you are interested in coming in, we would love to hear from you!
Art
In Art we will be learning about William Morris and his famous prints that are used for wallpaper. We will be learning about the process of printing and how it works. We are going to practise the skill of printing and create our own patterned wallpapers, thinking about shape, colour and theme. 
Science - Light and Sound
We will be learning about different types of light sources and whether they are artificial or natural. We will be exploring shadows, how a shadow is formed and how we can create different shadows.
We will be learning about sound by listening to sounds in our environment and identifying them. We will be practising our listening skills to identify a wide range of sounds and then describing sounds e.g. loud, soft, quiet, rumbling, tinkling, ringing etc. We will explore how we can use our bodies to make percussion sounds and explore how we can change those sounds.
