Autumn One

Hello and a big welcome to our new Wrens class at Ironville and Codnor Park Primary School!

We start this half term with our phased in entry and learning the rules, behaviours and routines of the school day.

Our first topic is 'Marvellous Me' where we will go on a journey of self-discovery. Through play, exploration, and creative activities, children will explore their identities, bodies, and relationships.

We will delve into what makes each child unique, celebrating individuality and diversity. From exploring our five senses to understanding our growing bodies, we will foster a sense of wonder and curiosity about the world around us.

Over the next 6 weeks we will be reading stories which help with transition, rules and routines as well as some classic favourites including 'The Gruffalo', 'The Three Little Pigs' and 'The Tiger who came for Tea'.

As we finish for half term we move onto our Halloween theme where we make potions, carve pumpkins and read books including 'Room on the Broom' and 'Winnie the witch'.
