Autumn One

Hello and a big welcome to our new Wrens class at Ironville and Codnor Park Primary School! This half term we are learning all about you, your family and what you like to do. We start this half term with our phased in entry and learning the rules, behaviours and routines of the school day.

We then move onto our 'Marvellous Me!' theme with activities such as drawing self-portraits, talking about the different members of our families and thinking about what interests we have! 

Over the next 6 weeks we will be reading stories which help with transition, rules and routines as well as some classic favourites including 'The Gruffalo', 'The Three Little Pigs' and 'The Tiger who came for Tea'. As we finish for half term we move onto our Halloween theme where we make potions, carve pumpkins and read books including 'Room on the Broom' and 'Winnie the witch'.

Our PE sessions are on a Tuesday and Thursday so please send your child in their PE kit on these days.

Homework will be given out on Friday 15th September and will be marked every Friday so please send your child's homework book in each Friday. 

Reading with your child is one of the most important things you can do at home with your child! Reading books and diaries will be given out to each child for you to read at home and write in the diary. Please read with your child at least 3x per week.
