Happy New Year and Welcome Back!
Living things and their Habitats / Habitats in the wider world.
This term, we will be investigating living things such as plants and animals while exploring their varying habitats and microhabitats. We will compare the differences between things that are alive, dead and non-living. To understand the delicate balance of nature, we'll investigate food chains and discover what animals eat to survive. Finally, we'll trace the path of our food, from the farm to our supermarket shelves, gaining a deeper appreciation for where our meals come from.
In the second part of the term, we will expand this to looking at Habitats across the world.
Where is Ironville?
During this topic we will be looking at the countries in the Uk. This will include being able to identify the capital cities of each other countries. We will use and understand how to use a compass and what are the points.
We will then focus on where Ironville is in the UK and understand the location in terms of county and countries. We may even go for a walk around Ironville to see what human and physical features are within our village - once the cold weather goes.
First Flight
Do you know when the first flight was? or why was it so important? Well that is what we will be looking at in this topic. We will find out who the Wright brothers were and why they were so important to the development of flight.
During this term we will also visit the Newark Air Museum!
