At Ironville and Codnor Park Primary School, we believe that empowering children to have a voice is fundamental to their development. There is nothing more important than being able to express yourself well across a range of context. Our school environment can be quite ‘isolated’, which means many have a lack of understanding for the wider world and the variety of people who live in it. By improving oracy, it will provide them with the vocabulary and confidence to say what they want to say to a wider audience, as well as the ability to structure their thoughts, thinking skills and provide them with the foundation to allow better life opportunities.
