31.3.23 'Connections' themed Science Fair 2023!

As part of our under the sea theme we made our own mini oceans! We then decided to freeze them to see what would happen. We talked about them turning to ice and how we could reverse the change, the children said to get them to melt, so we used different resources to see which one would melt them the quickest, the spoon won!

Science Week 2021!

This week was Science week and we participated in lots of different activities! We had a zoom call with Dr Sian the Scientist who works with medicines and she answered lots of our questions about science too! We also had a talk from a lady who used to work in a laboratory testing clothes and furniture to ensure they are fire safe. Each class carried out an experiment of their own too including creating pirate ships which float and mentos and coca cola. We also read some great Science related books to which sparked lots of discussion and questions and out science fair was a great sucess again with lots of exciting entries! What a fabulous week! Science week 2020!!

Wow what a week we had! All the classes found out about a female scientist of their choice,  designed a poster for the science competition and carried out a range of different experiments to get them to question the world around them and how things work! Alongside this parents and children were asked to design and make a science project for the science fair within the theme of 'something which changes'. The science fair was held on Friday and was a massive success! Both children and parents loved making and showing the projects and we had some unique ideas and projects made. The children were also able to dress up as mad scientists for the day! See pictures below..
