Autumn One
Where do we live? What are we near? What is around us? This half term we shall be learning about Great Britain and the United Kingdom and what makes them both different. This includes exploring maps and atlases, locating the countries and capital cities and what counties border each other. We are going to explore the seas around Great Britain and the UK and finally we shall explore what famous landmarks there are including human and physical features.
In art, we are going to be exploring the work of Andy Warhol, Vincent Van Gogh, Henri Matisse, Leonardo De Vinci, and Gustav Klimt. We shall look at the similarities and differences between them and discuss what is the difference between portrait and self-portrait.
We shall then use mirrors to look at their own face, other children’s faces, discuss and record different facial details on a big sheet, creating a big face template). Robins will then also learn and develop art skills which include size, thickness, patterns, and textures and finally use these skills to draw a self-portrait.
