Class Photographs 2021-2022

Summer two

Ahoy there! We received a message in a bottle from The Jolly Rodgers asking us what we would do if we were pirates! We loved pretending to be pirates in our pirate ship and sailing the seas looking for some booty (that’s what pirates call treasure)! We also wrote our own messages and put them into a bottle to send back to The Jolly Rodgers!

We have been learning all about what we might find under the sea! We received a special postcard from Tiddler asking us to tell him what we might see and hear in our oceans. We have had great fun exploring under the sea in our yellow submarine looking at all the different types of marine life.

We have been learning all about what the seaside is like now compared to what it was like in the past. We also discussed how to stay safe at the beach and created a stay safe at the beach poster. We had lots of fun pretending to be at the beach in our seaside role play area and used the resources provided to show how we keep safe.

We have been helping Mr Grinling from ‘The lighthouse keeper’s lunch’ by sending him different sandwich concoctions to stop the pesky seagulls from stealing them! We also recreated the story in our sensory role play area. We loved exploring the different textures of the rocks, shells, sand and water.

Summer one

We created our own designs for our Platinum Jubilee plate, we then used these as a template to create the real thing!

Sensory time! I have had lots of fun exploring different textures this term.

We have been learning all about minibeasts! We went onto the school field to explore some microhabitats.

We carried out a science experiment called 'The colour run'  to see how colour can transfer from one place to another to make new colours.

Mr Wolf's pancakes! We have been learning all about pancake day! We know what ingredients we need to make pancakes and how to make them.

We celebrated Chinese New Year! The children learnt all about the Chinese New Year story and how it is celebrated!

We had aliens drop objects from the sky as they passed over our school! We had to sort them into magnetic and non-magnetic for them. We also made our own space helmets for when we go to space and created our own aliens with great descriptions!

Sensory time. The children in Shining Start have been exploring light, sound and texture in their sensory time this week. It was a calming and homely environment to be in.

Autumn Two

We enjoyed putting our pennies on Pudsey Bear.

Santa came to visit!

Little Red Riding Hood Pantomime

Autumn term one

We have been exploring Ironville and the different types of houses there are in the village.

We made potions for the witch in Room on the Broom.
