Imagine London a long, long time ago. It was a busy place, with lots of people coming and going. Houses were mostly made of wood and were very close together. It was a different city to the London we know today!

In this topic we will be developing our knowledge basic knowledge of London. We shall also be learning the story of how The Great Fire of London started and why. What caused the fire? Who was at fault? We will then make a timeline of the fire events and compare fire equipment from the past to present day. 

Why are Samuel Pepys and John Evelyn significant? What does their information tell us about what happened during The Great Fire of London?

We shall be developing our ability to look closely at the world around us and translate what we see onto paper. It's a fantastic way to develop fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and visual perception.

We will focus on:

• Simple shapes: Understand basic shapes like circles, squares, and triangles and start by drawing simple objects using these shapes.
• Line drawing: Drawing lines of different lengths and thicknesses which will help us understand how to represent different objects.
• Observation skills: Look closely at objects and try to capture their essence on paper.

We will learn how to identify and name a variety of common animals including fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals. We shall also learn how to identify and name a variety of common animals that are carnivores, herbivores and omnivores. Finally, we shall learn how to describe and compare the structure of a variety of common animals (fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals including pets).
